Richmont Mines mandated Northec for the raising of four existing dykes and the construction of a new dyke for the primary settling basin of the Island Gold mine tailing area in Dubreuilville, Ontario.
Work consists of the construction of an access road; stripping of organic material, preparation of 4 dyke foundations including rock injection, rock surface cleaning and treatment and construction of a new dyke; construction of the emergency spillway and discharge channel, construction of two pumping ponds, rock crushing and screening to obtain specified construction materials, including quality control, water management system and sediment control.
