Project Clerk

Description:

The Project Clerk plays a key role in the day to day operations of the site. They will be responsible for the project site administration and provide support to the Site Superintendent(s) and Project Manager.

The Project Clerk will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Daily completion of payroll from site time sheets;
  • Purchasing of materials and supplies as requested by Site Management;
  • Weekly completion of equipment log;
  • Arrange and Schedule travel for all site employees;
  • Handle all administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Daily use of computer software including: Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as our Payroll and Purchasing systems;
  • Administers and maintains confidential information and records, including employee files;
  • Upkeep of site trailer;
  • Other duties as required.

Working Conditions:

  • Project site/field working conditions;
  • Rotation of 2 weeks on site/2 weeks off site, or 2 weeks on site/1 week off site (depending on project);
  • On-site project workspace of various conditions which may include temporary office facilities and exposure to moving, mechanical parts and vibration; high places, and various levels of outside noise and weather;
  • Class 3 PPE for required – employees are required to provide their own CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots and prescription eye protection (if required).

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding organizational skills;
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities on a daily basis;
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Completion of high school;
  • Completion of post-secondary education in an administrative field would be considered an asset;
  • Minimum two years of office experience;
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner;
  • A team player who is flexible and exercises good decision making abilities;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Reliable transportation, public transit is not available;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

* Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience in a site/field office environment;
  • Experience in mining or civil construction environment;
  • Surface Miner Common Core (basic modules) training.
